Pivoting Knife, Jorvik 2978, 10-11thC

A reproduction of a double bladed pivoting knife from Jorvik (York). The original purpose of this style of knife is uncertain although it is widely accepted that the larger blade is for general use while the smaller blade may be for craft purposes such as leatherworking- these work so well for this, we even use one  ourselves for making all our knife sheaths.
