Bauernwehr, 15th-17th Century
A farmers field knife with an added guard for self defence should you be attacked by brigands while out in the fields. This particular example has been made to be tough and used as a working knife with a blade made out of en45 spring steel hardened to 52 rockwell. It holds a good cutting edge but retains enough flexibility for shock absorption and with a continuous 4mm back this is one tough knife. Walnut scale handle fixed with bronze tube rivets.
