13th-14thC Iron Cooking Knives (Dutch)

13th-14thC Iron Cooking Knives (Dutch)

A set of two laminated iron cooking knives.

Pure iron knives continue to be used well into the 19th century. These knives have been hammer hardened and lightly etched to show the lamination in the iron. Good and tough knives, perfect for cooking, everyday use and living history displays, they hold a decent cutting edge and are very tough with almost no brittleness.

These are accurate examples of  13-14th century Dutch all metal cooking knives made from laminated iron and similar examples are found in Britian and across Europe. The handles have been oil blackened to help prevent rusting.
